2023 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Since the Jeep Wrangler first appeared in 1987, with its removable doors and top, it has become the most iconic and recognizable Jeep ever manufactured. With many awards under its belt, it’ll make an even bigger statement in 2023.

Many consider the Sport as the trim where buyers get the best value for their money. However, no matter what Wrangler trim you choose, it’ll come off-road-ready straight off the showroom floor. The 2023 model comes at a starting price of $42,790.

Today, we’ll delve deeper into what you can expect from the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sport.

Key Features and Specs

When you purchase the 2023 Wrangler Sport, you’ll get a host of fantastic standard features, including foglights, tow hooks (two in the front and one in the rear), Apply CarPlay and Android Auto mobile phone compatibility, a 17.8cm touchscreen with an Uconnect 4 system, a Torx toolkit, and 43.18cm steel aluminum black-styled wheels. Additionally, skid plates are included on the fuel tank, transmission, and transfer case.

Although the Sport is compact, it’s surprisingly very spacious, with up to 898 litres of space behind the rear seats, and you’ll get up to 2,050 litres of storage space when the rear seats are folded down.

Standard key safety features include a ParkView rear backup camera with a wide-angle view of the rear with a built-in dynamic grig to help guide you. A forward-warning collision system with active braking will provide audio and visual warnings if you approach another object too fast. The system will apply the brakes in certain situations. You can upgrade to the ParkSense park assist system that’ll assist you in parking like a pro.

Performance and Towing Capacity

The Wrangler Sport is available in a standard V6 six-speed manual transmission 3.6-litre engine (260 lb-ft of torque and 285 hp) with stop/start technology. Four available engine upgrades will increase the starting price by an estimated $1,800 to $2,200.

The same 3.6-litre engine can be upgraded to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic or an eTorque eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic engine. For a little more kick, the available DOHC I-4 2.0-litre DI eight-speed automatic TorqueFlite engine with stop/start technology will get you 470 lb-ft of torque and 375 hp.

The 2.0-litre will give you approximately 10.2km/L on the highway and 9.35km/L in the city. The 3.6-litre engine will give you fuel efficiency at up to 8.5km/L in the city and an estimated 10.62km/L on the highway.

Depending on your powertrain choice, you’ll be able to tow a maximum payload of between 907kg to 1,588kg.
