For better capability, upgrade to the available 3.2L Pentastar VVT V6 engine, which boasts more power and towing capacity of up to 4,500 lb so you can take that RV or trailer wherever you go. Finally, the available all-new 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine provides the fuel efficiency of an I-4 but with performance capability exceeding the V6. The resulting 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque makes every drive exciting, and it now includes Engine Stop/Start (ESS) technology. All three engines are paired with enhanced 9-speed automatic transmission.

More than 80 Safety Features
The 2019 Cherokee features over 80 standard and available safety and security features, including 8 airbags, so that you and your passengers will be protected on the road. The standard ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera provides you with a rearview image with dynamic grid lines on your standard 5-inch touchscreen when you are shifted into reverse, making it easier to back out of your driveway or parking space without twisting around. Available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking uses radar to alert you to a potential frontal collision while driving at lower speeds. Should you fail to respond to the warnings it will take proactive measures to prevent you from hitting the vehicle in front of you. Lane Departure Alert with Lane Keep Assist uses the lane markings on the road to detect if you change lanes without using a signal or unintentionally drift from your lane, and will steer your vehicle back into your lane should you fail to respond to the warnings. Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go will automatically slow down your cruising speed if it detects a slower moving vehicle immediately in front of you, and even bring your vehicle to a complete stop if the need arises. Once traffic has cleared it will automatically resume your preset cruising speed. Available Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist takes the stress out of parking by taking over the steering while you operate only the brake, accelerator, and shift gears.

The new generation of Cherokee is sure to get noticed for all the right reasons with its new appearance. It has a resculpted front fascia and new LED headlamps, and a new one-piece aluminum hood gives clean visual lines and better aerodynamics. Exterior Heritage touches include the classic 7-slot grille, a wide and commanding stance, and aggressive wheel-to-body proportion. The 2019 Cherokee also features upgraded and increased storage space so that you can bring more cargo than ever before. With the rear seats folded it has a rear cargo capacity of 1,634 litres (57.7 cubic feet), more than any Cherokee before it. The height of the rear cargo floor can be adjusted to more easily accommodate different types of cargo. Lower it to accommodate tall items, or raise it to make loading and unloading cargo easier. For the first time on a Jeep model, the rear area can be more easily accessed using the new available hands-free power liftgate. Simply kick your foot below the rear bumper to open, and do the same to close it, making it easy to access the back with your hands full. The interior of the Cherokee is not only incredibly convenient, but it is also quite elegant. The newly redesigned center console has been repositioned toward the rear to create additional space for smaller items in the front storage pocket. Heated, ventilated front seats and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel make your cold mornings slightly more bearable. New available high-gloss Piano Black accents are complemented by premium Satin Chrome tracer accents that outline the radio, air vents, and gear shift bezels to complete the modern interior.
