Efficient Performance
The 2017 500X has the choice of two engines. One comes with a 1.4L, four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission that creates 160 horsepower and 184 ft.-lb. of torque. The second engine is a 2.4L four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 175 ft.-lb. of torque and is mated exclusively with a nine-speed automatic transmission. A disconnecting rear axle engages when AWD capability is not needed, improving fuel efficiency. The 500X's fuel economy comes in at 9.5 L/100km in the city and 6.9 L/100km on the highway.
