2022 Jeep Wagoneer

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is the first step in Jeep resurrecting the Wagoneer name. These large, roomy SUVs will come packed with technology, have a luxurious interior, and have three rows of seats.

The Wagoneer comes in two models, Series II and Series III.

Read on as we take a look at what you can expect.

Performance

The Wagoneer comes with a 5.7L V-8 gas-powered engine making 392hp, alongside a 48-volt hybrid system that has a feature allowing cylinder deactivation to save fuel.

The Wagoneer comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but most buyers are bound to upgrade to four-wheel drive.

There are three four-wheel-drive options available. The Quadra-Trac I system is an always-on, competent 4X4 system that gives your Wagoneer the ability to move safely in any weather conditions, Quadra-Trac II has increased capability and includes traction control with a two-speed transfer case, while the Quadra-Drive II will take your Wagoneer through any terrain you choose to throw at it.

These vehicles are rated to tow 4,500kg.

Interior

The cabin is very spacious and has three rows of seats for eight people. It is possible to swap the second-row seats for captain’s chairs, reducing the seating capacity.

The cabin is luxuriously appointed with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, and three-zone automatic climate control.

The Wagoneer has 775 litres of cargo space in the boot, and collapsing the back seats increases this to a massive 2,667 litres of cargo space.

The driver has a 26cm digital display showing gauges, while the 25cm infotainment screen is mounted between the front seats. Passengers that sit in the front can have their own 25cm screen mounted on the dash giving them access to their entertainment and navigation functions.

Jeep’s Uconnect 5 provides access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a range of entertainment and navigation features. There is a great sound system in the Series II, but the Series III has a 19-speaker system developed specifically for this vehicle by McIntosh.

Safety

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is a top-class vehicle, so it is not surprising that it comes equipped with all the latest driver and safety features. There is adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking with cycle and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and lane assist.

Fuel Consumption and Price

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is a large vehicle, so the fuel consumption is unlikely to be very low. The quoted figures for this vehicle are 15.6L/100km around town and 11.7L/100km on the highway.

The Series II starts at $80,995, and the Series III comes in at $86,995.

Conclusion

This large, luxurious SUV is perfect for getting the family around town and then setting off for wilderness breaks. Take off for the wild beyond with no fears that the vehicle will let you down; the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer won’t run out of ability.

The lounge-like interior, comfortable seating, good luggage space, and safety features mean that the family is conveyed in a safe bubble, insulated from the weather and road hazards.

Take the first step and go into your local Jeep dealer, book a test drive in a Jeep SUV and see what all the hype is about. This is one excellent SUV.
